紅屋是馬來西亞重要的殖民地標記，裏面收藏著葡萄牙人和荷蘭人的紀念物品、展覽華人和馬來人的傳統結婚禮服及介紹馬六甲歷史，是讓遊客認識馬六甲的好地方。
於紅屋外圍有著維多利亞式的噴水池，水池旁邊還種滿色彩斑斕的菊花和雞冠花，遊人猶如走到了盛夏中的荷蘭。紅屋門前還有三輪車可供乘坐。
